In 2001, over 500 acres of Fordham land was donated to the Woodland Trust for the creation of a woodland environment. Some 300,000 baby trees were planted to create what will become, someday, a huge forest area already much used by walkers, horse riders and those interested in wildlife, Fordham has become a rural idyll.
