The village of Liphook is approximately 2 miles away, providing shopping facilities for day to day needs (including a Sainsburys Supermarket) and a main line train station with services to London Waterloo (approximately 65 minutes). More comprehensive shopping facilities are available in the larger centres of Farnham, Guildford and Haslemere. There is an excellent choice of schools, notably St. Edmunds, Amesbury at Hindhead, Bedales in Petersfield, St. Ives at Haslemere, Edgeborough at Frensham and Highfield at Liphook. Sporting facilities in the area include racing at Goodwood, polo at Cowdray Park and golf at numerous courses including two in Liphook and one at Blackmoor. Sailing can be enjoyed from Chichester Harbour and the south coast and the surrounding countryside, much of which is under the ownership of the National Trust, provides excellent opportunities for walking and riding.
