Finding your Interior Design style

Looking for inspiration can be the super fun and exciting part of taking on a home improvement project.

But with there being so many sources like social media, home stores, magazines and websites, it can get overwhelming rather quickly.

If you feel like you’re drowning in décor ideas, then establishing a style and working with an Interior Designer could be perfect for you.

By taking our style quiz you can have a clearer idea of the styles you prefer. Armed with this insight, you can kick start a conversation with an Interior Designer, discussing the inspiration further so your designer can really nail your personal likes and dislikes.

What does your design style mean?

We are all so unique, so it’s only natural that your interior design tastes are too.

Though you may prefer one certain style, it doesn’t mean you have to 100% commit to it. The most beautiful spaces often have variation and contrast. Our designers particularly love the 70/30 rule.

The 70/30 rule means that in your room 70% of the décor and styling is taken up by your dominant style, let’s say traditional, while the other 30% is mid-century. These contrasting styles balance each other out and create a space that is completely unique to you.

Once you have taken our interior design quiz, you can take a look at projects that relate to your style and perhaps even stumble upon other styles you love.

Taking on the next steps

Once you’ve discovered your interior design style, you can really filter down your inspiration and start making plans for everything from flooring, paint colours, furniture and décor.

Or if you have all of the ideas but none of the time, you may want to call in the professionals. An Interior Designer can make your design vision a reality while also challenging you to think outside the box and try new styles.

There are so many reasons why working with a designer might be right for you, here are just some of the reasons clients come to us:

  • They fear making expensive mistakes.

  • They can’t decide on a design direction or style with their partner

  • Their family is growing, but their home isn’t

  • Their home is always overwhelmed by clutter

  • They avoid using certain rooms in their home

  • The rooms in their home never feel quite finished

  • They’re going through an extension and are overwhelmed by all of the decisions

Our Interior Designers can help you commit to decisions about your home with confidence, helping to make your day-to-day life easier while having a stunning home you are proud to call your own.
